PD & E Depot
Mattoon's third railroad was the Peoria, Decatur and Evansville of PD & E. Their Depot was built in the 1880's along their tracks at 21st street. Walker Construction has been located at the depot for over 60 years. The building has undergone numerous renovations, alterations and additions. But the core building is still the original depot. The depot's walk in safe is still in use inside.
